Charlie Chase [1959- ]

Cold Crush Brothers, a South Bronx hip-hop group, rapped to the beats of Puerto Rican DJ Charlie Chase. Their rivals, Grand Wizard Theodore and the Fantastic Five, included Puerto Rican rappers Ruby Dee and Whipper Whip.

These performers, featured in the 1983 film Wild Style, are a few of the many Puerto Rican DJs, MCs, break dancers, and graffitti artists who helped to shape the new genre of hip-hop in the late 1970s.
