Santana performing at Woodstock, 1969
Then-newcomer Santana's epic Woodstock appearance in 1969 rocketed him from obscurity to elite guitar-god status overnight. While touring Cuba in 1977, bebop legend Dizzy Gillespie accidentally discovered a future jazz legend in Arturo Sandoval. The Brat's early shows at Club Vex helped define the underground East L.A. punk scene in the late 70s. The history of Latino music in the U.S. has certainly made for some amazing stories. If you know of any interesting anecdotes or events that contributed to the future of Latino music in America help us by adding to that rich history here.

My art with Smithsonian and EMP featuring Latin Music Greats!

Okay, so my friend Michele has a florist, G ROSSI at 7th & J and hangs my paintings there when they are not in a gallery and just because they look so snazzy with her gorgeous arrangements. I just had a show at the Beatnik Studios and was featured in Sacramento Magazine February 2011.

This article is dedicated to the memory of my late brother William Coronado, and his family.
